Design Coordinator

Design Coordinator role in Houston, TX

• $60/hr. - $62/hr. (commensurate with experience)
• Contract Role – 6 months initially
• Hybrid Schedule – Monday through Thursday in office, Friday remote

We are seeking a highly organized and proactive Design Coordinator to support cross-functional project execution in a fast-paced design and drafting environment. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on collaboration, enjoys keeping projects moving efficiently, and has a strong attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities:

• Coordinate and track multiple design-related projects from initiation through completion
• Monitor schedules, deliverables, budgets, and resource allocation to ensure project success
• Collaborate with internal teams and stakeholders to maintain smooth communication and workflow execution
• Identify project risks, bottlenecks, or delays and proactively implement solutions
• Support project documentation, reporting, and status updates
• Help maintain consistency with design processes, workflows, and industry standards

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Proficiency with Microsoft Project, Microsoft Excel, and Power Apps
• Familiarity with AutoCAD, Bluebeam, and Visio is a plus
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities
• Demonstrated problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently
• Team-oriented mindset with the ability to foster collaboration and accountability
• Self-starter mentality with a proactive approach to ownership and execution

Education & Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Project Management, Business Administration, Design, or a related field preferred
• 2–3 years of project coordination experience, ideally within a design, drafting, or creative services environment
• PMP certification is a plus but not required
