The Land Development Team Lead will serve as both a strategic client manager and an internal team leader, responsible for overseeing the successful delivery of land development projects from concept through construction. This individual will lead and mentor a team of engineers and technical staff, ensuring high-quality work, efficient project execution, and strong client relationships. The Team Lead will also play a key role in business development and operational leadership within the firm.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, manage, and coordinate land development engineering projects of varying size and complexity
- Serve as primary point of contact for clients, maintaining strong relationships and anticipating client needs
- Supervise and mentor a multidisciplinary team, including project managers, engineers, and designers
- Develop and oversee project scopes, schedules, budgets, and resource planning
- Prepare proposals, scopes of work, and fee estimates
- Guide technical design direction and ensure compliance with agency regulations and company standards
- Review and approve engineering plans, calculations, and reports; sign and seal as appropriate
- Manage subconsultant teams and coordinate deliverables across disciplines
- Support business development efforts and participate in strategic planning for the land development group
- Foster a collaborative and high-performance team culture focused on quality, accountability, and growth
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering (required)
- Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in Texas
- Preferably 12 years of experience in land development engineering, including design and project management
- Minimum 7 years of experience in a supervisory or leadership role
- Proven ability to lead and develop high-performing teams
- Strong client management and communication skills
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to quality and project excellence
- Effective in proposal writing, business development, and operational planning
- Critical thinking skills and understanding as to finding paths forward for projects
