Milling Operator

The milling operator will perform tasks involving physical labor at parking lots and roadways by operating a milling machine. This position also requires routine repair and maintenance of equipment in addition to other duties.

Responsible for daily inspection of equipment and ensuring all systems in machines are properly running.
• Perform and/or coordinate preventive maintenance and repairs of the milling machine.
• Safely and skillfully operate the milling machine while on a job site.
• Proper usage of grade control devices.
• Maintain milling teeth to assure proper cutting patterns.
• Must always maintain an acute awareness of the surrounding footprint of the milling machine. Responsible for always watching for obstructions while operating the equipment.
• Responsible for maintaining visual contact and being aware of other crew members on the ground and vehicles on the jobsite.
• Daily coordination with supervisor to aid in dispatch and logistical moves of milling machine.
• Responsible for wearing proper milling machine headsets to ensure safety while performing work on the milling machine.
• Equipment cleanup as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Preferred 3 years experience operating a milling machine.
• Ability to work in a variety of weather conditions including heat, cold, wind, rain, and dusty environments.
• Must be willing to travel and work away from home when required.
• Be willing to work nights and weekends when necessary.
• Timekeeping via T-Sheets application required.
• Be able to work overtime when required.
• Must have strong work ethic.
• Ability to work in a team setting.
• Communication skills, ability to communicate with supervisors, co-workers, contractors, and the general public in a courteous, professional manner at all times.
• Ensure a safe work environment in compliance with all safety policies and procedures.
• Must be physically able to repetitively lift and carry at least 50 LBS on a regular basis.
• Use of Personal Protection Equipment is required.
• Use of sunscreen, long sleeves, and appropriate headgear is recommended.
• Must comply with the company's drug and alcohol testing requirements.
