A well-established management-side employment law practice in Southern California is seeking a Litigation Associate to join its growing team. This opportunity is ideal for an attorney with early-career litigation experience who is interested in developing a long-term practice focused on labor and employment matters.
The ideal candidate will possess strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills, along with a commitment to delivering high-quality work product. Prior experience with employment-related litigation is beneficial but not required; candidates with a solid civil litigation foundation and an interest in employment law are encouraged to apply.
Key Responsibilities
• Represent employers in a variety of employment-related disputes, including litigation, arbitration, mediation, and administrative matters
• Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other legal documents
• Conduct legal research and develop case strategy in support of active matters
• Assist with wage and hour, discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and workplace compliance matters
• Review and draft employment agreements, workplace policies, and related documentation
• Participate in depositions, witness preparation, and discovery processes
• Provide day-to-day counseling to employers on workplace issues and employment law compliance
• Support training initiatives and workplace risk-management efforts
• Collaborate closely with experienced attorneys on sophisticated client matters
Candidate Qualifications
• Active California Bar admission required
• Approximately 1–7 years of litigation experience preferred
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent legal research and analytical abilities
• Ability to manage multiple assignments and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Interest in building a long-term career within a collaborative employment law practice
