Overview
BFS’s supervisory team members are critical to the success of our company. We are proud of the sense of “family” we have created and look to the supervisory team to exemplify, nurture and sustain that friendly environment in a professional manner.
Responsibilities
Oversee and direct work required of the department through the people, processes and resources provided to meet each of our customers’ needs as well as the goals of the company. This includes:
- Communicating job expectations to all team members
- Providing timely and actionable feedback to team members in a respectful manner and encouraging the same.
- Develop growth opportunities for each team member
- An ability to engage, confront and encourage the “all hands-on deck” mentality of the team. “Not my job” is not an option.
- Tracking employee PTO and non-PTO absences
- Initiating, coordinating and enforcing systems, policies and procedures
- Planning, monitoring and appraising results processes/production
- Monitoring, coordinating and possibly executing maintenance of required hardware/machinery/supplies
- Interacting with other departments and stakeholders in a timely and professional manner to ensure smooth workflow
- Communicating operational results on a consistent basis to leadership team, and initiating any corrective action identified. (email, written, analysis via spreadsheet or other data review)
- Advocating and providing justification for additional necessary resources.

Specific Responsibilities
- Supervise the BFS team and all its processes and procedures to meet or exceed identified Key Process Indicators (KPIs)
- Represent the BFS team in discussions/planning/strategic work affecting the department and how well it can serve our customers
- Work cooperatively with all BFS Supervisors
- Act as Supervisor on Duty for Indirect Reports (PM Machine Operators, PM Shippers, PM IF Coordinators)
- Facilitate issue resolution or escalation
- Direct team members to ensure production standards
Qualifications
- Experience in the department to be supervised or prior similar experience
- Team Lead experience preferred
- High school graduate or GED
- Experience in MS Office, especially Excel, Outlook and Word
Preferred Skills
- A personal style well-aligned with supervising others successfully, as well as a genuine interest in doing so
- Able to provide and receive feedback across all levels of the organization
- Strong organizational skills Previous work experience as part of a production or fulfillment team.
- Warehouse management systems experience
