What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Teacher position at Blackhawk Learning Connection?
Assist the teacher in providing a warm and nurturing environment in which the children can grow physically, emotionally, and intellectually.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in planning and implementing the daily program under the direction of the teacher
- Assist in planning and preparing the child care environment, setting up interest centers, and preparing needed materials and supplies
- Help the children control behavior using a positive, appropriate approach; always using consistent technique
- Interact, initiate and encourage the children in the activities during the day
- Develop a cooperative and supportive attitude within the room
- Assist the teacher in record keeping by assisting on observations regarding the children's health, behavior and development
- Function and help build a supportive team
- Assist with general housekeeping tasks
- Ability to relate joyfully and sensitively to children
Must be 18 years of age
High school diploma or equivalency certificate
Work under the direct supervision of a teacher
Physical stamina
Evidence of emotional maturity and stability
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $25,000.00 - $27,000.00 per year
