SUMMARY: The Tool Grinder is responsible for tooling to manufacturer or customer specifications, at an affordable cost savings, and understanding each customer job application to insure tools are made correctly.

SUMMARY: The Tool Grinder is responsible for tooling to manufacturer or customer specifications, at an affordable cost savings, and understanding each customer job application to insure tools are made correctly.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Personally exhibits, recruits and coaches associates consistent with Core Behaviors
- Responsible for promoting culture of safety
- Sort tooling
- Set up the machine
- Prep and set up jobs to be run for each application
- Grind tooling according to tool specs
- Clean/inspect machinery and tools.
- Inspect jobs after final operation
- Respond to commonly occurring problems/situations for which standards, procedures or precedents exist
- Perform all tasks in accordance to ISO
- Knowledge of material and tooling types
- Knowledge of the machine and its capabilities, Tru-Tech, Cylindrical Grinding Machines, Manual Grinding Machines
- Knowledge of what the tool is and how it is used
- Ability to look for bad grinds or chips in the tool by using eye lopes and magnifiers
- Ability to read blue prints
- Knowledge and ability to use micrometers, Vernier, radius gages
- Understanding of what wheel to use for each job
- Competent with applying math skills/tool geometry
- No direct supervisory responsibilities
- High School diploma or equivalent required
- Up to 2 years of experience in a similar position required
- None required
- CNC certificate preferred
- Good working conditions. Environment may be slightly dirty or involve occasional exposure to elements. Work is generally performed during traditional working hours; regular day hours Monday through Friday; although there may be some changes to work schedule to include some weekends or evenings.
- Employee is regularly required to speak and understand English, stand, walk, sit, use hand to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms. Employee is required to use computer and other equipment.
- Employee frequently lifts and/or moves up to _50_ pounds. Specific vision abilities include close vision and the ability to clearly focus vision.
- Eye protection, hearing protection, and foot protection as required.
