Position Summary
The Maintenance Engineer is responsible for performing a variety of skilled maintenance, repair, and improvement tasks across all club locations and facilities. This role ensures that all buildings, equipment, and property remain in excellent working order, providing a safe, functional, and visually appealing environment for members, guests, and staff.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
- Repair & Maintenance:
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on club facilities, mechanical equipment, electrical systems, and plumbing.
- Diagnose and troubleshooting issues with equipment and building systems.
- Carpentry & Small Projects:
- Build, assemble, or repair small projects, fixtures, and furniture as needed.
- Perform sanding, staining, and sealing of wood surfaces.
- Painting & Finishing:
- Prepare, prime, and paint interior and exterior surfaces.
- Maintain a high-quality finish on all painted and stained surfaces.
- Equipment & Tool Management:
- Use and maintain hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment safely and effectively.
- Monitor tool and supply inventory and report shortages to the Facilities Manager.
- Preventive Maintenance:
- Perform scheduled inspections and preventive maintenance to minimize downtime and extend the life of equipment.
- Collaboration & Support:
- Work closely with other departments (Golf, Tennis, F&B, Pool, Administration) to support their operational needs.
- Assist in setup and breakdown for events when necessary.
- Safety & Compliance:
- Follow all safety protocols and procedures in the handling of equipment, tools, and materials.
- Ensure work areas remain clean, organized, and hazard-free.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
- High school diploma or equivalent; trade school or technical certification preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in general maintenance, construction, or facilities repair (hospitality or club experience preferred).
- Proficient in the use of hand tools, power tools, and other maintenance equipment.
- Knowledge of basic carpentry, painting, plumbing, and electrical systems.
- Ability to read and interpret manuals, schematics, and technical documents.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent time management and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physically demanding tasks in various weather conditions.
