DESCRIPTION:
Blackfoot Medical Center/Mountain View Hospital is looking for a Medical Laboratory Scientist to join our team in Blackfoot Idaho!
JOB SUMMARY:
The Medical Lab Scientist organizes and performs the daily activities of his or her assigned section(s) - Chemistry, Blood Bank, Hematology, Microbiology and/or Immunology. The MLS is responsible for performing the daily activities, ensuring the validity of test results, and performing quality control procedures for the specific section(s) to which he/she is assigned. He/she must provide excellent customer service on the phone and in person, to patients, physicians, and other medical staff. MLSs must work well under pressure, troubleshoot analyzers and equipment, prioritize specimens (STAT, Urgent, Routine, etc.), multitask, and be flexible in order to fill staffing needs.

Qualifications
Education/Certification: BS in Medical Technology/Clinical Laboratory Science/Medical Laboratory Science with MLS/MT/CLS national certification or equivalent. Current BLS Certification. Valid driver’s license. New graduates must be registry eligible & sit for the board of certification exam within 6 months of hire. Must obtain a national certification within 1 year of hire.
Experience: Five years’ experience in lab services and management experience preferred.
Equipment/Technology: Computer skills, Microsoft knowledge, deep understanding for all lab machines, controls, and calibrations.
Language/Communication: Must have the sensitivity, maturity, and ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $22.00 - $30.00 per hour
Expected hours: No more than 40 per week
