Position Overview
Blackburn IM is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Capital Markets & Business Development Analyst to support fundraising and investor engagement efforts across the portfolio. This role is ideal for candidates with strong communication skills, a strategic mindset, and an interest in private markets and relationship development. This position offers a high-impact opportunity to work closely with senior leadership on capital formation and strategic growth initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Investor Sourcing & Outreach
- Identify and research potential Limited Partners (LPs), including family offices, institutions, and high-net-worth individuals.
- Develop and maintain a CRM of investor prospects and contacts.
Presentation & Communication Support
- Assist in preparing investor presentations, pitch decks, and fundraising materials.
- Draft and refine communications for investor updates, capital calls, and strategic announcements.
Market Intelligence & Strategy
- Monitor trends in private capital markets and investor preferences.
- Support strategic planning around fund structure, positioning, and marketing.
Investment Communication
- Prepare investment memos, pitch decks, and presentation materials for internal and external stakeholders.
- Support investor updates and strategic planning initiatives.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Coordinate with internal investment and operations teams to ensure alignment on messaging and data.
- Support ad hoc projects related to capital markets, investor relations, and business development.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, real estate, economics or related field.
- 1-3 years of experience in investment relations, capital markets, private equity, or fundraising preferred.
- Strong writing and presentation skills; ability to tailor messaging to different audiences.
- Proficiency in PowerPoint, Excel, and CRM tools.
- Ability to travel as needed.
