Kitchen Supervisor
Summary of Position: The Kitchen Supervisor is responsible for the supervision of the central kitchen operations and team, including all food prep for the locations. This position reports directly to the Culinary Director and the Executive Chef and works in conjunction with the Central Kitchen Supervisor Team. This position requires strict adherence to food quality and sanitation standards, as well as the development and training of the kitchen team members. This position also requires store-to-store travel.
Responsibilities
Training - develop and execute training for all kitchen employees with support from Executive Chef and Culinary Director across locations.
Team Management - Support the Culinary Director in creating a positive and professional working environment; make recommendations on team member disciplinary action and promotion across store locations.
Ordering and Inventory Management - assist in performing food inventory when necessary. Place orders accurately with vendor partners. Minimize product waste and keep accurate waste logs. Ensure all products are put away correctly daily. Work in conjunction with the Bakery Supervisors for inventory needs. Conduct weekly inventory in conjunction with the Culinary Director.
Operational Efficiency - organize and execute kitchen task lists and ensure accurate and efficient operations of order production. Keep in contact with the Culinary Director when operational issues arise.
Product Quality - in conjunction with the Culinary Director and Executive Chef, oversee the preparation and presentation of safe and excellent product across locations.
Sanitation and Cleanliness - ensure strict adherence to all sanitation and food safety standards, as specified by the Culinary Director and Executive Chef and state regulations.
Kitchen Maintenance - support the Culinary Director and Executive Chef in solving maintenance issues as they arise, including but not limited to contacting necessary supplier. In conjunction with the Bakery supervisor, work closely on opening/closing kitchen tasks.
Requirements
- Knowledge of health and safety rules in a kitchen
- Manual dexterity: able to operate cutting tools and kitchen utensils
- A team player with good communication skills
- Patient with the ability to stay positive under pressure
- Must be able to lift 25 pounds and stand for long periods
- High school diploma or equivalent is desirable; Training from a culinary school will be an asset
- Obtain/Bring Food Handlers Certification
- Full-time position
Pay: $19.00 - $20.00 per hour
