Description and Qualifications
The Dining Room Manager leads and supports the front-of-house operations in a fine-dining, high-volume restaurant with a full-service, all-day bar. This role ensures exceptional guest experiences through strong leadership, team development, and operational excellence.
The ideal candidate has demonstrated success managing service teams in a fine-dining environment, including beverage and sommelier teams, and brings exceptional emotional intelligence, organization, reliability, and commitment to excellence.

Operations Management:

Oversee all daily dining room operations, including reservations, seating, service standards, and facility cleanliness.

Manage C/G/S inventories and supply orders.

Develop and manage schedules to balance guest volume and labor budgets.

Ensure timely and clear communication of company updates to the dining room team.

Attend weekly Food & Beverage leadership and departmental meetings as required

Staffing, Retention & Development:

Recruit, interview, hire, and train staff according to Blackberry Farm standards and service philosophy.

Provide ongoing mentorship, coaching, and performance feedback.

Support professional development and career growth within the team.

Guest Experience:

Lead floor operations during service to uphold Blackberry Farm’s service standards.

Proactively address guest feedback and resolve service concerns with professionalism and care.

Financial Management:

Manage and monitor labor, beverage, and operational budgets.

Review daily financial reports to ensure revenue and labor goals are achieved.

Must comply with all company policies and procedures.
To perform the essential functions of this position regular and consistent attendance is required.
Must be able to work well with other Team Members and Managers and interact with our guests.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Assistant Dining Room Manager(s), Salaried Sommelier, all hourly front-of-house team members
EDUCATION AND / OR EXPERIENCE
-
Minimum 4 or more years as a lead/head/GM operational manager in a high-volume fine-dining restaurant

Strong knowledge of wines and spirits, including varietals and production methods.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, online reservation management systems and point of sales systems

High School Diploma or equivalent required
LANGUAGE SKILLS

Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills

Must be able to effectively communicate with guests, team members and managers
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Knowledge and understanding of property management cashiering procedures

Must be able to understand basic math and comprehend budgeting issues
REASONING ABILITY

Must be able to exercise judgment and make decisions based on job knowledge and awareness of company goals
PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.

Must be able to be on feet for long periods of time

Must be able to safely operate a company vehicle or golf cart
