JOB SUMMARY:
The Vice President of Sales will own and lead all sales efforts for Black Sheep Bacon. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for developing sales strategy, opening new accounts, growing revenue, and building long-term relationships across retail, foodservice, and wholesale channels. As an early hire, this role will play a critical part in shaping our go-to-market strategy and scaling the business.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy aligned with company goals
· Identify and pursue new sales opportunities across retail, foodservice, distributors, and specialty markets
· Build pricing, margin, and volume strategies that support sustainable growth
· Open and manage key accounts, including regional and national partners
· Build strong relationships with buyers, distributors, and strategic partners
· Evaluate and expand into new channels (e.g., grocery, specialty retail, restaurants, e-commerce partnerships)
· Work closely with operations and production to align demand forecasting and inventory
· Negotiate contracts, pricing, promotions, and distribution agreements
· Serve as the voice of sales internally, collaborating with marketing, operations, and leadership
· Help define brand positioning and sales messaging in the market
· Track sales performance, pipeline, and forecasts
· Provide regular updates and insights to leadership
· Use customer feedback and market trends to inform product and strategy decisions
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
· Must have strong organizational skills and ability to analyze / interpret technical information, mathematical concepts, and form conclusions
· Entrepreneurial mindset and comfort working in a fast-paced environment
· Proven ability to close deals and grow revenue
· Must have deep understanding of the food industry, market trends, and competitive landscape to influence annual and strategic planning
· Must understand pricing and promotional strategies
· Strong negotiation and relationship-building skills
· Ability to adapt to changing market conditions and business priorities
· Accurate forecasting and excellent communication skills providing continual input to the business in planning network operations
· Must be able to travel frequently, visiting customers, conducting headquarter and plant visits, and attending trade shows
QUALIFICATIONS:
· 5 years of sales experience, preferably in the meat industry
· Experience working with retailers, distributors, or foodservice accounts
Pay: From $125,000.00 per year
