Roofing Service Estimator

Position Summary

The Service Estimator serves as the primary point of contact for customers seeking roof repairs, leak investigations, maintenance services, and preventative maintenance programs. This position is responsible for managing incoming leads, performing roof inspections, creating detailed reports and proposals, selling repair and maintenance solutions, coordinating work execution, and ensuring projects are completed and invoiced promptly.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Customer Relationship Management

· Respond to all new leads and customer inquiries within the same business day.

· Contact customers promptly to schedule inspections and discuss service needs.

· Develop and maintain strong customer relationships.

· Serve as the primary point of contact throughout the repair process.

· Follow up on all open proposals and opportunities.

· Generate repeat business and referrals through exceptional service.

· Roof Inspections & Reporting

· Perform commercial and residential roof inspections.

· Identify roof deficiencies, leaks, maintenance concerns, and potential failure points.

· Recommend reroofs when necessary & inform sales manager.

· Document findings with photographs and detailed descriptions.

· Prepare professional inspection reports.

· Educate customers on repair options and long-term roof asset management.

Estimating & Sales

· Prepare accurate repair estimates and proposals.

· Present repair solutions and recommendations to customers.

· Sell roofing repairs, leak investigations, emergency services, and preventative maintenance programs.

· Promote and sell recurring roof maintenance agreements.

· Maintain proposal follow-up schedules to maximize conversion rates.

· Meet or exceed sales and gross profit goals established by management.

Project Coordination & Execution

· Coordinate repair schedules with service technicians and service coordinators.

· Review repair scopes with technicians before work is performed.

· Ensure all required materials and equipment are available.

· Maintain communication with customers regarding project status and scheduling.

· Conduct post-repair reviews with technicians to verify scope completion and identify any additional recommendations.

· Ensure all work is completed safely and according to company quality standards.

Financial & Administrative Responsibilities

· Manage repair opportunities from lead generation through final payment.

· Ensure completed work is invoiced within three (3) business days of completion.

· Review completed work for accuracy prior to invoicing.

· Track proposal status, sales activity, and customer communications in company software.

· Assist with collections and customer payment inquiries when necessary.

· Maintain accurate records and documentation for all projects.

KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS (KPIS)

The Service Estimator's performance will be measured through the following key performance indicators:

1. Proposal Volume

· Generate and issue a minimum monthly proposal volume as established by management.

· Maintain an active pipeline of repair, maintenance, leak investigation, and emergency service opportunities.

2. Proposal Conversion Rate

· Achieve and maintain a proposal-to-sale conversion rate of at least 40%.

· Consistently follow up on open opportunities to maximize awarded work.

3. Service Revenue Sold

· Meet or exceed monthly and annual sales goals established by management.

· Generate profitable service, repair, maintenance, and roof asset management revenue.

4. Customer Response Time

· Respond to 100% of new customer inquiries and leads within the same business day.

· Maintain prompt communication throughout the customer experience.

5. Invoicing Timeliness

Ensure 95% or greater of completed work is invoiced within three (3) business days of completion.

· Review completed work promptly to support accurate and timely billing.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

· Minimum 5 years of commercial and residential roofing experience.

· Service estimating, project management, roofing sales, or field supervision experience preferred.

· Experience with low-slope and steep roofing systems.

· Strong sales and relationship-building skills.

· Excellent verbal and written communication.

· Ability to create professional reports and proposals.

· Strong organizational and time management skills.

· Ability to prioritize multiple projects simultaneously.

· Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.

· Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Outlook, and construction software platforms.

· Ability to work independently while supporting a team environment.

· Valid Driver’s License with acceptable driving record.

· Ability to climb ladders and access roofs safely.

· Ability to work in varied weather conditions.

· OSHA 10 preferred.

· High School Diploma or GED required.

· Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.

· Must pass background screening, drug screening, and MVR review.

Pay: $75,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
