Responsibilities
- Perform landscape maintenance tasks including mowing lawns, trimming shrubs, pruning trees, and planting flowers to enhance aesthetic appeal.
- Operate hand tools and power tools safely and efficiently for tasks such as edging, aerating soil, and installing landscape features.
- Maintain irrigation systems by inspecting for leaks, adjusting sprinkler heads, and ensuring proper water distribution to promote healthy plant growth.
- Conduct routine gardening activities such as fertilizing, weed control, mulching, and soil preparation to support plant health.
- Assist with landscaping projects including installation of new plantings, hardscaping features, and seasonal decorations.
- Monitor landscape conditions regularly to identify issues like pests or disease and take appropriate horticultural actions.
- Ensure all groundskeeping equipment is properly maintained and stored after use to prolong its lifespan.
Requirements
- Proven experience in landscape maintenance or groundskeeping with knowledge of horticulture principles.
- Familiarity with irrigation systems, lawn care techniques, and general gardening practices.
- Ability to operate hand tools such as pruners, shovels, rakes along with power tools including trimmers and blowers safely.
- Strong understanding of landscaping techniques and garden management best practices.
- Physical stamina to perform outdoor work in various weather conditions; ability to stand, bend, lift heavy objects and perform manual labor efficiently.
- Excellent attention to detail combined with a proactive approach to grounds upkeep and safety standards.
