Responsibilities
- Coordinate daily dispatching of trucks, ensuring adherence to schedules and delivery deadlines.
- Communicate effectively with drivers via multi-line phone systems, ensuring clear instructions and updates.
- Utilize transportation management systems such as Oracle Transportation Management and AS400 to plan routes, track shipments, and manage freight data entry.
- Monitor GPS and GIS tools for real-time vehicle tracking, route optimization, and transportation planning.
- Manage shipping & receiving documentation, freight details, and logistics data with precision and accuracy.
- Oversee fleet management activities including maintenance scheduling and compliance with safety regulations.
- Handle phone call management professionally, demonstrating excellent phone etiquette and communication skills to resolve issues promptly.
Experience
- Proven experience in dispatching within logistics or transportation planning environments.
- Familiarity with transportation management systems such as Oracle Transportation Management, SyteLine, or equivalent platforms.
- Strong analysis skills for route optimization, freight tracking, and supply chain coordination.
- Knowledge of GPS, GIS technology, fleet management practices, and 3PL (third-party logistics) operations.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently.
- Proficiency in data entry using systems like AS400 or similar enterprise resource planning tools.
- Effective communication skills for interacting with drivers, clients, and internal teams via multi-line phone systems while maintaining professional phone etiquette.
