SUMMARY: Responsible for leading the Public Safety Department in maintaining the physical security and protection of the Casino property, assets, vendors, Guests and Team Members.

- Prepares and requests reports on incidents involving Guests, Team Members, and/or the facility as needed.
- Reviews and logs all reports produced by the department for accuracy and collects evidence as necessary.
- Responsible for the development and implementation of Casino emergency procedural plans.
- Assists in training all departments in handling fires, evacuations, robbery attempts, and any other life-threatening situation.
- Acts as on-scene commander during any emergency situations.
- Assists in enforcing all BOC, Tribal, Local, State, and Federal laws where applicable.
- Overall responsibility for the supervision of all areas of the Public Safety Department.
- Ensures adherence to the Tribe’s Tort Liability Ordinance where applicable.
- Conducts investigations and other duties from time-to-time coordinating with The Tribal Gaming Agency or Human Resources as needed.
- Maintains and enhances efficient communication with inter-entity departments such as TGA, Tribal Security, Human Resources, as well as outside entities when applicable such as the Sheriff’s Department and CHP or others.
- Ensures adequate surveillance of non-gaming areas.
- Prepares annual departmental budget and reviews periodically to ensure limits have not been exceeded.
- Ensures that Public Safety Team Members meet expected Guest Service Standard levels as described in the Mission, Values, and Guest Service Standards.
- Maintains adequate staffing levels, training, scheduling, evaluating, and coaching Team Members as needed.
- Ensures 24-hour coverage on the Casino floor for all Team Member escorts, cash transfers, Hard and Soft Count drop duties, and other situations as needed.
- Ensures adequate coverage of EMTs/First Responders throughout a 24-hour operation.
- Develops ongoing Public Safety Departmental and Casino Team Member training as needed.
- Organizes and conducts regular standing meetings with supervisory team.
