Cafe Food Server FT

SUMMARY: Responsible for taking and delivering food and beverage orders to the Guests in a friendly and courteous manner.

Essential Responsibilities and Duties: (Specific areas of responsibility including, but not limited to)

• Takes orders for food and beverages, sets tables and trays, and delivers food and beverages to the Guests.
• Maintains an effective working relationship and excellent guest service with all Team Members and Guests.
• Maintains contact with kitchen staff, management, hosts staff, and Guests to ensure that dining details are handled properly and quickly.
• Performs duties using sound and mature judgment.
• Abides by all state, federal, and local liquor regulations pertaining to serving alcoholic beverages.
• Requests identification from Guests when legal age appears to be under 30.
• Converses with Guests to ensure satisfaction with food and service; addresses complaints or concerns.
• Performs multiple tasks during high volume situations.
• Greets and seats Guests, cleans and resets the dining area on an as needed basis.
• Cleans and fills empty condiment containers.
• Assists and supports catering and special event functions.
• Performs all side work duties as assigned.
• Adheres to Black Oak Casino Resort and departmental appearance standards.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Mandatory Requirements:

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must possess a high school diploma, G.E.D. or equivalent.
• One year experience as a Food Server with some experience in banquet service preferred.
• Must complete Food Handler or ServSafe and Responsible Alcohol Service certification or have proof of current certification.
• Must have ability to learn and operate point-of-sale system.
• Must possess a cooperative and friendly nature, with excellent guest service skills.
• Must be able to communicate proficiently in English.
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced atmosphere.
• Must be able to pass a mandatory drug test.
• Must be able to obtain a valid gaming license.
• Must provide evidence of employment eligibility in the U.S.

Physical Demands:

• Must be physically able to perform all job requirements.
• Must be able to lift 25 pounds and occasionally more with assistance.

Work Environment:

• Must be able to work in a non-smoke free environment.
• Must be able to work in a noisy environment.
• Must be able to work all shifts, weekends, holidays, and special events.
