Full Time Driver
Wage: $20.00 per hour
Schedule is primarily Monday through Friday ranging from morning to evening hours depending on the need.
General Description of the Position: |
Responsible for providing transportation services in a professional manner for individuals with disabilities.
This position involves assisting people supported with developing work skills necessary to obtain and maintain employment in the community. Provide the supports necessary to ensure success at future employment opportunities.
This position provides medication, mail, and food delivery services to BHW residential homes in the Rapid City Community.
Qualifications: |
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must have a valid South Dakota driver's license.
- Must be insurable and have a safe driving record.
- Must be able to pass qualifying background check.
- Must have a negative drug test.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Required criminal background check and pre-employment drug screen.
Essential Functions: |
Physically requires the ability to bend, stoop, and lift 25lbs.
Responsibilities: |
- Uphold the standards of the work contract at all times, which may include assisting with finding or providing coverage.
- Maintain and model positive and professional working relationships with the person supported and other agency employees.
- Provide discretion, good judgment, organizational ability, initiative and the ability to work independently.
- Able to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
- Provide transportation to people supported as needed.
- Possess excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.
- Attend meetings and on-going training as assigned.
- Role model the Power of B and Teamwork Principles.
- Consistently model appropriate work skills and hold persons supported to the same expectations.
- Model and teach appropriate interaction with supervisors and co-workers at job location.
- Provide follow up, retraining and support as required to ensure tasks are completed to acceptable quality standards.
- Monitor the person work performance and provide feedback and prompts when needed.
- Ensure safety is being maintained in the work environment at all times.
