Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and efficient Steward to join our team in a fast-paced kitchen environment. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in maintaining cleanliness and organization within the kitchen. Responsibilities
- Wash and sanitize dishes, glassware, flatware, pots, and pans using commercial dishwashing equipment.
- Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen area by sweeping and mopping floors, wiping down surfaces, and taking out the trash.
- Assist with food preparation as needed, including basic food handling tasks.
- Ensure that all kitchen equipment is cleaned and stored properly after use.
- Maintain a clean and organized storeroom, buy assisting with deliveries.
- Follow all health and safety regulations regarding food handling and sanitation practices.
- Report any maintenance issues or equipment malfunctions to the kitchen manager promptly.
Experience
- Previous experience in a hospitality or food service environment is preferred but not mandatory.
- Familiarity with kitchen operations, including catering and banquet services, is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to maintaining high cleanliness standards.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a busy kitchen setting.
- A team player with good communication skills who can collaborate effectively with others in the kitchen.
