What are the responsibilities and job description for the Part-Time Custodian position at Black Hawk College?
Responsible for keeping assigned areas as clean as possible with the machines and equipment available and performing all custodial services at Black Hawk College-East Campus.
a. Keeps assigned areas neat and clean, including vacuuming, dusting, scrubbing, and reconditioning all carpeted and hard surface floors; dusting, polishing, and vacuuming of all furniture, doors, walls; washing of light fixtures and windows; dumping all waste containers and recycling containers, and hauling same to proper disposal areas.
b. Assists in special events setup and teardown and security of all College property on assigned shift.
c. Perform cleaning, refueling, and minor maintenance of college vehicles.
a. High school diploma or GED required.
b. Six months of previous experience operating and maintaining machines inherent to the job (e.g. floor scrubber, buffer) required. Includes keeping machines cleaned.
c. Six months of previous experience in similar work assignments desired.
d. Ability to occasionally lift 50 pounds required.
e. Ability to read, write, and understand directions written in English.
f. Must be dependable and punctual in reporting to and leaving work.
g. Ability to make decisions and implement them after they are made, and fulfill requirements to complete assignments.
h. Ability to operate vehicles required to perform duties. Must possess a current Driver’s License.
