Job Title:

Health, Safety, and Environmental Specialist (Night Shift)

Responsibilities:

  • Train and educate employees on industrial safety standards, protocols, procedures, and best practices. Develop and deliver training programs, workshops, and informational materials to ensure employees are well-informed and knowledgeable about safety practices.
  • Assess potential risks and hazards in the workplace and develop strategies to mitigate them. Conduct thorough risk assessments, identify potential dangers, and implement controls to minimize or eliminate risks.
  • Investigate the cause of accidents, incidents, or near-misses and develop strategies to prevent similar incidents from happening in the future. Analyze data, identify trends, and recommend corrective actions to enhance safety.
  • Support and collaborate with the HSE/QC Director and/or Manager in managing all requirements and best practices.
  • Provide support to Safety-On-Site Teams by coordinating data and activities.
  • Keep management up to date on SOS progress and assist teams in meeting their goals, and train other departments to do the same.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Must be willing to work a night shift.
  • Computer skills: Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheets, databases, and presentation software.
  • Interpersonal skills: Ability to work independently and collaborate and work well with coworkers and internal and external teams.
  • Strong problem-solving skills: Strong analytical skills are needed to assess data, identify trends, and make informed decisions.
  • Physical stamina: This role may involve physically demanding tasks such as site inspections and responding to emergencies.
  • Excellent communication skills: Must have sufficient proficiency to read and write instructions in English and be able to keep thorough and accurate records.
  • Basic mathematical skills: Must be able to perform basic mathematical calculations.
  • The ability to work in various environments: Indoors and outdoors in all-weather types.
  • Frequent standing, walking, and sitting.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds.

Experience/Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Years of Experience: 5 years (Preferred)
  • Industry Knowledge: Must have a general understanding of applicable industrial standards.
  • Strong knowledge of HSE regulations: Possess a comprehensive understanding of local, regional, and national health, safety, and environmental regulations, stay up to date with the latest standards, and ensure compliance within our organization.
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Must have a current DOT medical card, or the ability to obtain one, as the position may require the operation of a company vehicle
