Role Description The Estimator/PM role is a full-time, on-site position located in South Jordan, UT. The Estimator/PM will review project plans, specifications, and site conditions to prepare accurate cost estimates for paving and related construction work. Day-to-day tasks include performing quantity takeoffs, requesting and analyzing vendor and subcontractor quotes, and building detailed proposals that reflect labor, materials, equipment, and overhead. The Estimator/PM will collaborate with supervisors and field teams to clarify scope, track changes, and support bid strategies. The role also involves maintaining estimating databases, updating pricing information, and assisting with budget development and cost comparisons to help ensure profitable and competitive bids.
Qualifications
- Ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications, and site plans to prepare accurate quantity takeoffs and cost estimates.
- Proficiency with basic estimating and office software (e.g., spreadsheets, estimating tools, email, B2W Estimate, documentation platforms).
- Strong math, analytical, and problem-solving skills to evaluate project scope, pricing, and risks.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills for coordinating with internal teams, vendors, and clients.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple bids, deadlines, and follow-up tasks.
- Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in pricing, documentation, and proposal preparation.
- Experience in construction, paving, or civil site work estimating or related field is preferred.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training or degree in construction management, engineering, or a related discipline is a plus.
- Ability to work on-site in South Jordan, UT, including occasional visits to job sites for assessments.
