The Business Process Analyst is a pivotal member of Black Duck Product Operations, driving complex licensing fulfillment across a multi-product portfolio with unique licensing systems.
This role requires strong analytical judgment, the ability to interpret nuanced contract and entitlement models, and a commitment to delivering a seamless, high quality licensing experience for both customers and internal stakeholders.
In this position, you will help shape the future of Black Duck’s licensing strategy, participating in cross functional initiatives that influence how products are packaged, delivered, and supported. You’ll partner closely with Product, Sales, Support, Order Management, and various product teams to refine operational workflows, strengthen licensing capabilities, and support new go-to market approaches. With Black Duck’s portfolio advancing rapidly, you’ll be at the forefront of validating new product introductions (NPI) and ensuring licensing readiness for upcoming releases.
As our licensing ecosystem continues to modernize, this role offers significant project ownership. You’ll contribute to high visibility efforts that improve scalability, streamline processes, and enhance the overall licensing experience—all while gaining exposure to a wide range of business functions and emerging product innovations.
Responsibilities
Process complex licensing fulfillment across multiple internal product licensing systems, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and operational excellence
Interpret and operationalize advanced contract structures, entitlement models, and nonstandard licensing scenarios
Serve as a senior subject matter expert, advising internal teams on licensing strategy, edge cases, and scenario modeling
Drive NPI licensing readiness by validating new products and features ahead of launch
Partner with Product, Sales, Support, Order Management, and other teams to refine workflows and support evolving GTM strategies
Identify and execute improvements that streamline, automate, and modernize licensing processes
Maintain and govern high quality licensing documentation, data standards, and process integrity
Own and deliver project work tied to product evolution, system enhancements, and business priorities
Strengthen internal education, cross team knowledge sharing, and consistent policy enforcement
Qualifications
B.A. or B.S. degree with 4 years of relevant experience (or equivalent senior level expertise)
Demonstrated ability to navigate complex operational environments with minimal oversight
Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
Strong communication and collaboration skills, including experience working with distributed teams
Experience With Salesforce Preferred
High proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint)
Strategic thinker with a proactive, growth oriented mindset and interest in software security
The base salary range across the U.S. for this role is between $68400-$102600. In addition, this role is eligible for a bonus. Black Duck offers a competitive total rewards package. The actual compensation offered will be based on a number of job-related factors, including location, skills, experience, and education.
Pay Range: $68,400 USD - $102,600 USD
