General Manager - Distillery

Black Draft Family Farm & Distillery | Martinsburg, WV

We're looking for an experienced, professional General Manager to lead our growing team at Black Draft Family Farm & Distillery.

This is more than just a bar management position. We're a working farm, craft distillery, live music venue, event destination, and growing agritourism business. We're looking for a hands-on leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys solving problems, and is excited to help grow our business.

Preferred Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of corporate hospitality or business management experience
• Hospitality or Business Management degree preferred
• Knowledge of Federal and State liquor laws
• Experience managing high-volume hospitality operations
• Experience leading teams of 40 employees

Required Skills

• Google Workspace proficiency (Docs, Sheets, Drive, Calendar, Gmail)
• QuickBooks experience
• Clover POS experience
• Comfortable troubleshooting everyday technology, including POS systems, TVs, printers, internet-connected devices, and basic computer issues
• Excellent scheduling, organizational, and communication skills

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to lift 30-50 lbs. consistently
• Reliable transportation required
• Must pass a background check and drug screening

Primary Responsibilities

• Open and close daily operations
• Maintain full inventory control and ordering
• Create and manage staff schedules
• Supervise, coach, hire, and when necessary, terminate employees
• Lead a team of approximately 40 employees with continued growth expected
• Handle customer concerns professionally and de-escalate difficult situations
• Support food truck and vendor coordination
• Answer incoming customer calls and operational inquiries
• Ensure compliance with company policies and West Virginia liquor laws
• Execute the owners' vision while maintaining exceptional guest experiences
• Assist with daily operations across the farm, distillery, bar, restaurant, events, and music venue

Position Details

• Full-time
• Five-day work week
