Role Description The Veterinary Assistant is a full-time, on-site role based in Bozeman, MT. This role supports veterinarians and licensed veterinary technicians with daily clinical tasks, including handling and restraining animals, assisting during examinations and procedures, preparing treatment areas, and maintaining clean, safe, and stocked facilities. The Veterinary Assistant helps with basic animal care such as feeding, grooming, monitoring behavior, and supporting comfort and stress reduction for patients. The role also includes checking in clients and patients, collecting medical histories, updating records, and assisting with client communication and education about home care and preventive health. The Veterinary Assistant collaborates with the team to ensure efficient workflow, high-quality patient care, and a positive experience for clients and their pets.
Qualifications
- Strong Animal Care and Pet Care skills, including safe handling, observation of behavior, and basic husbandry.
- Foundational understanding of Veterinary Medicine principles and interest in learning clinical procedures and terminology.
- Client Education and Customer Service skills to communicate clearly, answer questions, and support a welcoming, respectful environment.
- Ability to follow detailed instructions, prioritize tasks, and maintain cleanliness and organization in clinical and kennel areas.
