What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Assistant position at Black Dog Medical?
Are you a tech savvy medical assistant in Maine who’s done with 12-hour hospital shifts and corporate politics? We’re a small primary care practice in one of the most beautiful parts of Maine, 30 minutes to Bar Harbor.
We offer part-time hours 8-4 p.m. 2 days/week. The office provides state-of-the-art technology and the kind of patient relationships that remind you why you got into healthcare in the first place. Patients love us and our Board Certified Primary Care Physician created Black Dog Medical to serve the community.
Our patients are adults only, and no procedures or phlebotomy or immunizations are given at office.
ABOUT OUR DOWNEAST PRIMARY CARE OFFICE IN THE WOODS
You will enjoy a beautiful, rural workplace where we provide old-fashioned, personalized care. Black Dog Medical is a membership-based medical practice that also accepts insurance. (Our name comes from the fact that we are as dedicated to patients as our favorite dogs are to us.)
Location: Our cozy office is in Lamoine, Maine 10 minutes from Ellsworth and 30 minutes to Bar Harbor.
ABOUT OUR DREAM MEDICAL ASSISTANT
You are a computer whiz and love technology and learning—we use modern, HIPAA-compliant EMR and other online tools.
Excellent written, verbal communication, and problem-solving skills.
You value excellent patient care and a multi-faceted role.

Certification is not required, though would prefer an interest in pursuing CMA certification within 12 months.
HOURS, COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
This Downeast medical assistant job is a per diem, part-time employee, 2 days a week.
Up to $26 per hour.
Some benefits available however the job does not include any medical / healthcare benefits.
