What You'll Do:
- Administers employee health and welfare plans company wide. Benefit programs include medical/dental/vision, short-term disability, long-term disability, workers' compensation, leave of absence, Flexible Spending (Section 125), etc.
- Acts as liaison between employee, insurance providers and to resolve benefit related problems and ensure effective utilization of plans and positive employee relations.
- Manages annual open enrollment period including distribution of materials from carriers, communicating changes to employees and arranges for on-site representation by benefits broker.
- Processes changes within deadlines.
- Conducts or acquires background checks and employee eligibility verifications.
- Serves as the Cobra liaison for 3rd Party Administrator.
- Ensure employees gain an understanding of benefit plans and enrollment provisions.
- Counsel employees (and potential employees/applicants) on plan provisions so that individuals can make informed benefit decisions.
- Provides administrative support to human resources function as needed (e.g. correspondence generation, record keeping, file maintenance, HRIS entry).
- Manage onboarding for the Andover office, and coordinate with the office administration at the other BDN offices to ensure proper onboarding procedures are followed, including I-9 verification, profile setup in the HRIS (ADP Workforce Now).
- Performs other HR generalist duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
- 0-2 years of experience in the HR field and/or education experience preferred
- Bachelor’s Degree is preferred
- Strong interpersonal, communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to prioritize and multitask written and verbal communication skills; professionalism is key
- experience with HRIS platforms. Prior experience using ADP/ Workforce-Now preferred
- Expertise with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
