Production Lead

The Production Team Lead is a hands-on leader responsible for ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality production for either BDC’s polymeric sand or chemical product lines. This role embodies BDC’s Core Values by driving performance, mentoring peers, and proactively improving operations.  This leader will ensure production targets are met daily, while seeking to exceed performance targets through continuous improvement. 

Key Responsibilities: 

Daily Operations & Team Leadership 

• Lead by example to meet or exceed daily production targets.
• Assign tasks, provide real-time coaching, and support team development.
• Act as a go-to problem solver on the floor, jumping in where needed.
• Encourage cross-training and maintain team alignment with Tier 1–3 expectations.

Performance Monitoring 

• Track team performance and report on productivity, quality, and safety KPIs.
• Proactively identify and remove bottlenecks to ensure targets are met.
• Conduct and support quality checks to ensure compliance with BDC standards.

Continuous Improvement 

• Recommend and implement best practices to improve efficiency and reduce waste.
• Participate in SOP development and train/retrain staff accordingly.
• Identify and act on process improvement opportunities — "Do More With Less."

Maintenance & Inventory 

• Ensure tools and machines are operated and maintained safely.
• Coordinate with maintenance for PMs and repairs.
• Oversee inventory levels and materials within the production area.

Safety & Compliance 

• Enforce safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized workspace (5S).
• Conduct daily safety checks and lead by example in PPE and compliance.
• Promote a fun, safe work environment aligned with BDC’s values.

Qualifications & Skills 

• 3–5 years in a manufacturing environment; previous team leadership preferred.
• Strong understanding of production workflows and KPIs.
• Forklift operation experience and safety awareness.
• Clear communicator with a positive, team-first mindset.
• Physically able to lift 50 lbs, stand for long periods, and operate machinery.
