The Black Coaches Classic is a community-centered basketball showcase that honors legendary coaches, uplifts Black leadership in sports, and uses the game to inspire youth and families across Greater Boston.
Role Overview
We’re seeking a passionate Volunteer Intern Writer to chronicle the Black Coaches Classic. This role is ideal for an aspiring sports journalist, communications student, or storyteller looking to build their portfolio while covering meaningful, high-energy basketball.
Responsibilities
- Write game recaps for each contest at the Classic
- Capture the tone, storylines, and standout performances
- Contribute an event recap highlighting coaches, athletes, and community impact
- Work closely with event organizers to meet deadlines
- Content may be featured on our website and social media platforms
Ideal Candidate
- Strong writing skills and interest in sports storytelling
- Passion for basketball, culture, and community impact
- Reliable, organized, and able to work in a live-event environment
- Journalism, communications, English, or media background a plus (not required)
