Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Mechanical Draftsman to join our dynamic engineering team. In this role, you will be responsible for creating precise and comprehensive mechanical drawings, schematics, and system designs that support our construction, manufacturing, and engineering projects. Your expertise in CAD software and mechanical engineering principles will be essential in translating conceptual ideas into accurate technical documentation. Duties
- Develop detailed 2D and 3D mechanical drawings using CAD software such as AutoCAD, Revit, MicroStation, SolidWorks, Creo, Autodesk Inventor, and Pro/ENGINEER.
- Create technical schematics and system designs aligned with project specifications and industry standards.
- Interpret mechanical engineering concepts, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing), and ASME codes & standards to produce compliant drawings.
- Collaborate with engineers and project managers to review design requirements and ensure accuracy of drafts.
- Prepare assembly instructions, technical reports, and technical writing documentation for manufacturing or construction purposes.
- Assist in the development of construction documents, including plans, sections, elevations, and details.
- Utilize FEA (Finite Element Analysis) tools to evaluate mechanical components when necessary.
- Support the review of design modifications and update drawings accordingly to reflect changes during project execution.
Skills
- Proficiency in CAD software including AutoCAD, Revit, MicroStation, SolidWorks, Creo, Autodesk Inventor, Pro/ENGINEER, and Bluebeam.
- Strong understanding of mechanical design principles, system design processes, and drafting standards.
- Knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) for precise manufacturing specifications.
- Familiarity with ASME codes & standards governing mechanical components and systems.
- Ability to interpret technical schematics, blueprints, and engineering drawings accurately.
- Experience with FEA tools for mechanical analysis is a plus.
- Excellent technical writing skills for creating clear documentation and reports.
- Capable of working on complex assembly drawings and 2D animations for visualization purposes.
