Role Description
This full-time internship role focuses on Event Curation & Production. The intern will support the planning, coordination, and execution of Black & Bronze Fest events. Responsibilities include assisting with event logistics, liaising with vendors, coordinating schedules, developing marketing materials, and ensuring a seamless on-ground experience for attendees. This hybrid position is based in Chicago, IL, with some remote work flexibility.
Interns will rotate across key areas of festival production, including:
- Event curation & programming
- Marketing & audience development
- Sponsorships & partnerships
- Hospitality & guest experience
- Technical production & operations
- Talent management
- Internal communications
- Community engagement
You will:
- Support the planning and execution of the August 2026 festival
- Participate in weekly sessions, workshops, and team meetings
- Assist with on-the-ground event promotion and outreach
- Contribute to sponsorship activations and fulfillment
- Help execute a post-festival celebration event
- Collaborate on a team-produced event
- Lead the curation and execution of your own event as part of a winter pop-up series
By the end of the internship, you will:
- Understand how to produce events end-to-end
- Build skills in project management, marketing strategy, and live event operations
- Gain experience working with artists, sponsors, and community partners
- Learn how to measure impact and analyze audience data
- Strengthen your ability to lead, collaborate, and problem-solve in real time
- Walk away with a portfolio-ready event you helped create (or led)
Qualifications
- Passionate about music, culture, and community-centered work
- Strong Event Planning and Event Marketing skills to help organize, promote, and execute events effectively
- Proficiency in Customer Service and Communication to ensure professional interactions and a positive guest experience
- Organized, proactive, and detail-oriented
- Willing to learn, take initiative, and think creatively
- Highly organized and detail-oriented with the ability to manage tasks efficiently
- Pursuing or holding a degree in Event Management, Marketing, Business, Communications, or a related field is a plus
- Familiarity with Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Slides, Drive)
- Experience with Canva or basic design tools
- Interest in marketing, branding, or audience engagement
- Comfortable with public speaking or community outreach
Requirements:
- Must be based in or able to travel to the Chicagoland area from June to early September
- Access to a vehicle and a valid driver’s license are strongly preferred
- Availability for key in-person dates
