Responsibilities
- Oversee daily store operations, including sales, inventory control, and cash handling to ensure smooth functioning.
- Lead, motivate, and develop staff through effective training, coaching, and performance management.
- Manage employee scheduling, conduct interviews for new hires, and participate in recruiting efforts to build a strong team.
- Maintain accurate bookkeeping and payroll records while ensuring compliance with company policies and financial procedures.
- Handle customer inquiries and resolve issues promptly to guarantee high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Implement merchandising strategies, pricing adjustments, and promotional activities to boost sales.
- Monitor inventory levels using POS (Point of Sale) systems and coordinate purchasing to prevent stock shortages or overstock situations.
Experience
- Proven management experience in retail or grocery store environments with supervisory responsibilities.
- Strong skills in negotiation, employee orientation, interviewing, and team leadership.
- Multilingual or bilingual abilities are a plus for communicating with diverse customer bases.
- Familiarity with retail math, budgeting, payroll processing, bookkeeping, and inventory management systems.
- Experience with POS systems, cashiering, merchandising, and stock replenishment is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated ability to manage shifts effectively while maintaining excellent customer service standards.
- Prior assistant manager or supervisory roles that involved training & development and store operations are preferred.
