Responsibilities Include
- The position of the Learning Support is designed to serve individuals and groups of students in the classroom and across the site
- Encourage a positive learning environment in each setting within the school
- Display problem solving skills and flexibility when instructional methods or materials need adaptations
- Deliver educational interventions designed by therapists and teachers to help students meet educational, academic, life skill, behavioral, physical, social and emotional goals
- Consult and collaborate with academic and therapeutic teams regarding individual students
- Provide, implement, and support behavior management and crisis intervention
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s in Education, Special Education, Early Education, or a related field
- The ideal candidate will be high energy, willing to collaborate, flexible to change, and have the ability to think on their feet.
- Personable, playful, and engaging; able to effectively build rapport with children and their families; positive and patient demeanor
- Ability to organize and prioritize tasks in a dynamic and busy role
