The overall responsibility of a Preparation Cook is to perform various food preparation, cooking and cleaning tasks to ensure the kitchen remains efficient in creating and delivering dishes for our guests, which results in the diner running smoothly and our guests returning.

- Prepare cooking ingredients by washing and chopping vegetables, cutting meat, etc.
- Undertake basic cooking duties such as reducing sauces, parboiling food, etc.
- Prepare simple dishes such as salads, entrees, etc.
- Maintain a clean and orderly kitchen by washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces.
- Performs other related duties as assigned by the manager-on-duty.

- Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends and holidays in addition to normal business.
- Frequent to continuous need for manual dexterity of both hands (pushing, pulling, handlings, gripping, fine finger controls, etc)
- Frequent exposure to cold/ below freezing and high heat temperatures (walk-in refrigerator, freezers and ovens)
- Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time.
- Be able to reach, bend, stoop, and frequently lift up to 50 pounds.
- Bending, squatting, and stooping for cleaning activities throughout the shift.
