Black Bear Academy is seeking a passionate and experienced Learning Support Assistant. This is a unique chance to shape lives in a collaborative, therapeutic learning environment where neurodiverse students thrive academically and socially.
Your experience in special education will directly impact student success and program growth. You'll have the ability to implement classroom management systems, provide small group, differentiated instruction, and collaborate across clinical and academic teams to drive meaningful outcomes.
Responsibilities include:
- Assist with classroom management and data collection to ensure every student's progress is tracked and celebrated.
- Support lesson plans that meet diverse needs with flexibility and creativity.
- Join a collaborative culture among teachers, clinicians, and support staff, supporting whole-child growth.
- Build strong relationships with families, students, and ILP teams.
- Provide 1:1 after school intervention for students.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
- Bachelor's Degree in Early Education, Psychology, Communication Sciences, Speech Hearing Sciences, or Social Work is preferred
- Experience with the special education population in a public or private school
- Skilled in supporting neurodiversity and social-emotional learning differences
- Experienced in building rapport quickly with students and families
- Strong collaboration and communication skills
- Adaptable and optimistic
