Land Survey – Crew Chief

Our growth offers an opportunity for an experienced Crew Chief to join our team. The selected candidate must have a minimum of 4 years of progressive experience performing boundary, topographic, ALTA/NSPS Land Title surveys, construction layout, and as-built surveys. This position will oversee daily field operations, ensure adherence to project specifications and safety standards, and utilize robotic and GPS equipment along with digital data collection.

This role requires travel (approximately 75% of the time) and the ability to travel to project sites wherever needed to support business and client needs. All travel time is paid in accordance with Ohio wage and hour requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise one or more field survey team members.
• Perform boundary, topographic, ALTA/NSPS Land Title surveys, construction layout, and as-built surveys.
• Travel extensively to project sites and job locations as required to support surveying operations.
• Collect, process, and verify field data to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Prepare field notes, sketches, and daily photos for projects.
• Establish horizontal and vertical control networks.
• Ensure all survey work complies with company standards, project requirements, and state surveying requirements.
• Maintain survey equipment in proper working condition and ensure calibration as required.
• Monitor crew productivity and provide training and mentoring to junior staff.
• Maintain a strong commitment to safety and compliance while working in varying field conditions and locations.

Required Qualifications

• 4 years of progressive experience in land surveying.
• Proficiency operating surveying equipment, , and data collection software.
• Thorough understanding of surveying principles, coordinate systems, field procedures, and construction staking.
• Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
• Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.
• Ability and willingness to travel up to 75% of the time and work at project sites throughout the region and other locations as needed.
