What are the responsibilities and job description for the Producer Services Accountant III position at BKV Corporation?
Producer Services Accountant III
BKV Corporation (NYSE: BKV) | Denver, CO | Hybrid Flexible
Job Summary
The Producer Services Accountant III is a senior-level individual contributor role requiring 7–10 years of natural gas accounting experience, ideally in midstream operations, gas marketing, or producer services. This role is responsible for the accurate and timely processing of all financial transactions related to BKV’s midstream activities — including natural gas purchases, sales, gathering, plant settlements, storage, and imbalances. The position reports directly to the Accounting & Settlements Lead within the Marketing Accounting function.
The ideal candidate brings deep knowledge of the full monthly settlement cycle, strong reconciliation skills across multiple counterparties and systems, and the discipline to support month-end close with precision. This is not a supporting role — it is an ownership role.
What You’ll Do
- Run the full monthly settlement process for midstream assets: gathering, plant settlements, gas purchases, sales, storage, and imbalances
- Reconcile counterparty invoices and gathering/plant statements against internal records and scheduled volumes
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies related to pricing, quantities, contracts, or imbalances — working directly with scheduling, contracts, and commercial teams
- Reconcile monthly volumes, balance the upstream system, and prepare revenue summary schedules for upstream revenue accounting
- Prepare and process invoices and payments for counterparties including marketers, midstream providers, utilities, and pipeline operators
- Support monthly and quarterly close: journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations
- Ensure all transactions are recorded accurately in accordance with GAAP and company policy
- Maintain SOX-compliant documentation and support internal and external audit requests
- Contribute to process improvement and automation initiatives within the settlement and accounting function
- Maintain working knowledge of gas plant and ERP systems related to natural gas accounting
What You Bring
Required:
- 7–10 years of accounting experience with direct exposure to midstream operations, natural gas marketing, or producer services settlements
- Strong understanding of natural gas gathering plant settlements, storage, imbalances, and revenue recognition principles
- Hands-on ERP experience (SAP or equivalent) plus familiarity with a gas accounting or scheduling platform
- Advanced Excel skills with proven ability to work with large, complex data sets across multiple counterparties
- GAAP fluency and active SOX documentation and compliance experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance — or an equivalent combination of education and professional experience
Preferred:
- CPA or active CPA candidate
- Experience in Quorum, P2, Enverus, or a comparable gas accounting system
- Familiarity with CCUS, carbon markets, or low-carbon energy frameworks
