We're the largest natural gas producer by gross operated volume in the Barnett Shale, and we've built an integrated platform that connects upstream production, midstream infrastructure, natural gas-fired power generation, and CCUS. That means our Market Risk Analyst doesn't just watch numbers move — they understand why they move, across physical gas, financial derivatives, power ISOs, and everything in between.
What You'll Actually Do
You'll serve as the independent risk voice in the room — the person the trading desk knows won't just rubber-stamp their positions. Your day might include:
- Running daily MTM and P&L attribution across gas and power portfolios, then explaining what drove the moves to leadership
- Validating settlements and forward curves across Henry Hub, regional basis markets, ERCOT, PJM, and MISO — and flagging when something doesn't smell right
- Working with ICE forward prices, ICE options/volatility files, balance-of-month prices, and plant-level power settlements (MWh, daily, hourly) — you know where these come from and how to use them
- Analyzing pricing and risk components within PPAs and PTAs — calculating exposures and supporting deal evaluation
- Monitoring limit adherence and escalating breaches before they become headlines
- Building stress tests and scenario analyses that actually get read — not buried in appendices
- Sitting at the intersection of Commercial, Accounting, Treasury, and Audit — translating risk into language each team can act on
What We're Looking For
- 2–5 years in market risk, trading analytics, or quantitative analysis within natural gas and/or power markets
- Full pricing toolkit fluency: settlement prices, ICE forward prices, ICE options/vol files, balance-of-month prices — you work with these daily, not occasionally
- PPA and/or PTA experience — you understand how these deals are priced and where the risk lives
- Advanced Excel and SQL — you move fast and build clean
- Tableau or Power BI — either works, both are welcome
- Allegro or Endur experience is a significant advantage
- At-risk metrics knowledge (VaR, marginal risk) is a plus
