BKV Corporation (NYSE: BKV) is a forward-thinking, growth-driven energy company building the future of low-carbon energy and reliable baseload power. We are the largest natural gas producer by gross operated volume in the Barnett Shale, with an integrated platform spanning upstream production, midstream infrastructure, natural gas-fired power generation, and carbon capture (CCUS).
We're hiring a Field Investigator to protect the people, assets, and operations that power our growth. This is a high-impact, high-autonomy role for someone who brings investigative rigor, law enforcement credibility, and the drive to build a best-in-class security and investigations function from the ground up.
The Mission
Own and execute all field and workplace investigations across BKV's operations — from well sites and production facilities to corporate locations. You'll respond to incidents, collect and preserve evidence, interview witnesses, produce defensible reports, and collaborate with Operations, Legal, Land, and HR to drive resolution and reduce risk. You'll also serve as BKV's primary liaison with law enforcement agencies and support electronic security and executive protection initiatives.
Your Caseload
- Lead on-site investigations of operational incidents, safety events, property damage, theft, and regulatory matters across BKV field locations.
- Collect and preserve physical and digital evidence — photographs, measurements, samples, statements — maintaining strict chain of custody.
- Interview employees, contractors, landowners, and third parties to obtain accurate, objective accounts.
- Produce clear, detailed investigative reports with root cause analysis and recommended corrective actions.
- Design and continuously improve a standardized investigation reporting system using Smartsheet and digital tools.
- Identify trends and recurring issues; recommend preventative measures that reduce operational risk across the enterprise.
- Collaborate with Electronic Security to troubleshoot access control systems (Genetec) and mitigate security vulnerabilities.
- Support Executive Protection operations as required.
- Serve as BKV's liaison with local, state, and federal law enforcement.
- Travel regularly to well sites, production facilities, and field locations (up to 10%).
What You Bring
- 3–5 years of law enforcement experience, with investigative or detective assignments strongly preferred.
- Proven ability to plan, lead, and document investigations from initiation through resolution.
- Extensive experience with electronic surveillance systems, access control, and forensic video review.
- Strong report writing skills — your reports need to stand up to Legal, HR, and regulatory scrutiny.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Smartsheet, and Genetec (or comparable security platforms).
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, field-based environment with travel to remote well sites and production facilities.
- Physical ability to lift 50 lbs, work on ladders/elevated platforms, and operate in outdoor/confined space environments.
- High school diploma or GED required; associate degree or certificate in law enforcement, criminal justice, or related field preferred.
