Job Overview:
BKS Arizona is looking to hire an experienced individual as a mobile diesel mechanic in the Tempe / Mesa / Gilbert / Chandler area. Work is primarily on medium-duty and heavy-duty trucks and trailers. This is a salary position with performance bonuses.
Duties:
-Operate and maintain service truck. Drive to customer locations for jobs and interact professionally with customer.
-Perform common tractor-trailer service and repairs. Tasks include diagnosis and repair in the following areas: preventative maintenance, check engine lights, ABS, electrical, heating and air conditioning, engine cooling system, engine and transmission performance, steering, suspension, brakes, wheel end, axles, and differentials.
-Secure parts as needed for repairs.
-Complete DOT annual inspections, PM inspections.
-Complete relative paperwork including work orders, part requisitions, inspections.
Qualifications:
-5 years of shop/field relative experience.
-Able to lift 100lbs, work in award bodily positions, out in the field in Arizona elements, sometimes remote locations, and often in the dirt.
-Have own tools required for most repairs.
-Ability to obtain a DOT medical card for driving.
-Clean driving record.
-Be familiar with bumper-to-bumper repairs and services. Applicant should be able to perform periodic inspections, identify conditions out of compliance with DOT rules, identify other vehicle problems, and perform diagnosis and repairs related to all vehicle systems.
-Be proficient with computers and the internet, with the ability to locate relative service information, send emails, convert files for analyzing and reporting.
-Familiar with Microsoft Word and Excel.
-Familiar with truck engines and engine software including Cummins, Detroit Diesel, Caterpillar, Navistar.
-Ability to arc / stick weld a plus.
-Adhere to industry safety protocols and keep a clean working environment and service truck.
