What are the responsibilities and job description for the Experienced Kitchen & Bath Designer (6 years minimum) | Builder and Trade Expertise position at BKC Kitchen and Bath?
BKC Kitchen & Bath is hiring an experienced kitchen and bath designer. This is a full designer role: you work the showroom floor, design and sell, and carry your projects from first meeting through completed installation. What we are looking for on top of that is someone who knows how to sell to builders, general contractors, and interior designers. We maintain an active Denver-area builder and trade list, existing accounts, and the infrastructure to carry the volume. A designer who knows that channel has room to grow it here alongside a strong showroom business.
With over 45 years in business and numerous industry awards, BKC is one of the leading cabinetry suppliers in the Denver metro area. We partner with top American manufacturers including Crystal, Koch, WW Wood Products, and Primary Kitchen, and we operate our own showroom, warehouse, delivery fleet, and warranty service operation.
What We Are Looking For
- Experience selling to the trade. A track record of winning and keeping builder, general contractor, remodeler, or interior design accounts, and the judgment to know what those clients need from a dealer.
- Comfort selling face to face on the floor. This role is in the showroom. You will work with walk-in and appointment traffic and be part of the showroom rotation.
- A minimum of six years selling residential cabinetry in a dealer or showroom environment, with documented success as a top producer
- A portfolio of completed residential projects from real client work demonstrating range, accuracy, and design quality
- Demonstrated ability to field measure, design, quote, order, and manage projects through installation
- Proficiency in 2020 Design or a comparable platform (Chief Architect, ProKitchen), with willingness to convert; we will support the transition
What You Will Do
- Develop builder, general contractor, and interior design accounts
- Design and sell in the showroom alongside a team of experienced designers, working walk-in and appointment clients
- Consult with clients to understand their vision and budget, then deliver designs and solutions that meet both
- Prepare accurate orders, contract documents, and project specifications, and manage projects from first meeting through completed installation
- Provide responsive communication throughout the project lifecycle; when problems arise, resolve them in a way that protects the client relationship
Compensation and Benefits
- Uncapped commission on gross profit. Expected earnings for this role are $90,000 to $155,000 per year. Compensation is commission calculated on gross profit and is uncapped. The more profitably you sell, the higher your rate.
- Medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k), paid vacation and holidays, paid sick leave, and an employee assistance program through our PEO partnership with Insperity
Why Designers Stay Here
- Infrastructure your clients will feel. Dedicated showroom coordinator, onsite warehouse and delivery, a warranty service technician, and administrative support. You sell and design; we handle the rest.
- A showroom that closes deals. Creative displays from our manufacturing partners give builders and homeowners a place to make decisions quickly.
- Stability worth moving for. Average tenure among our designers is over 10 years. People stay because the environment, compensation, and support are genuinely strong.
All inquiries are held in strict confidence.
