Job Description
As the Tax CPA Manager, you will oversee the preparation and review of tax returns, provide strategic tax planning and compliance guidance, manage client relationships, and mentor staff. This leadership role requires strong technical tax knowledge, excellent communication skills, and a collaborative mindset.
Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities
- Manage and review federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals, corporations, partnerships, and trusts.
- Lead tax planning engagements and advise clients on tax-saving strategies and compliance issues.
- Stay up to date with federal and state tax law changes and ensure firm-wide compliance.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, delivering responsive and strategic service.
- Supervise and mentor tax staff while providing training and performance feedback.
- Coordinate and manage IRS/state correspondence as needed.
Education and Professional Skills/Knowledge
- B.S. Degree in Accounting or related (Masters in Accounting or Taxation preferred but not required)
- CPA required
- 5 years of Tax experience working for a public accounting firm
- Excellent interpersonal skills in working with staff and clients
- Proficient with tax software (e.g., UltraTax or similar) and Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with accounting software like QuickBooks.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines and client demands effectively.
