What are the responsibilities and job description for the CAD Technician position at BK Fire Suppression & Security Systems?
Well-established fire suppression and security systems contractor seeks to fulfill a CAD technician position. Work involves the preparation of fire alarm, suppression, and sprinkler design drawings, including field surveying, drafting, and preparation of permit applications for the installation of code-compliant fire sprinkler systems that would be found in commercial, industrial, and condo/residential buildings.
Requirements:
· Minimum of 2yrs drafting experience, 5 years preferred
· Proficient in AutoCAD (latest version preferred), minimum 2yrs
· Ability to decipher and utilize construction plans to initiate shop drawing preparation
· Knowledge of NFPA 13, 13R and 13D
· Knowledge of and/or willingness to learn Hydraulic Calculation software
· Assist with preparing and submitting permits applications for projects located throughout Long Island
· Communicate and coordinate with design team and project managers appropriately
· Complete design projects from start to finish in an independent manner while obtaining assistance from a project manager
· Clean driver license, provide own vehicle
· Travel to job sites as needed to complete surveys/estimates
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour
