BJC HealthCare System is hiring a Part-Time Microbiology Laboratory Technologist Scientist (MLS II) for Microbiology Dept at Missouri Baptist Medical Center, 3015 N. Ballas Rd, St. Louis, MO, 63131
$5,000 Automatic Sign On Bonus Eligible!!!
Position Details:
- Day Shift: 6:30am-3pm - Primarily Weekends (flexible with weekdays)
- Part-Time (24 hours per week) benefit eligible
- Microbiology Role\
- Additional Pay: Differential for weekend, and holiday shifts, increasing hourly wages
- Responsibilities: Reading culture plates, identifying organisms, setting up and interpreting susceptibilities, performing QC
Experience:
- Microbiology Culture Plate Reading experience (preferred)
- Microbiology experience (preferred)
- Medical Technologist (MT), Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS), Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS)
- Lab experience (preferred)
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Physical / Life Sciences or related field
- 2 years or more of experience
- ASCP, AMT, AAB or equivalent

Role Purpose
The Medical Technologist (MT) or Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) II performs specimen processing and routine / complex testing on blood and other specimens which requires a knowledge and understanding of quality control, basic instrument maintenance, and procedure methodologies and reference ranges. Maintains appropriate documentation of all activities as required. Demonstrates good clinical laboratory practice
