Part-Time Generalist Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS II) - Days

BJC HealthCare System is hiring a Part-Time Generalist Medical Laboratory Technologist (MT/MLS II) for Core Lab located at Missouri Baptist Medical Center

  Position Details:

• Day Shift: 6:30am – 3pm - Set schedule pattern
• Part-Time (24 hours per week) Benefits eligible
• Weekend & Holiday Rotation: Every 3^rd weekend; 1-2 holidays per year
• Chemistry, Hematology/Coag, Urinalysis, and Processing
• Generalist Lab Technologist
• Core Lab Responsibilities: Customer service, sendouts, Blood Bank, Chemistry, Hematology/Coagulation, Processing, Urinalysis
• Lab Equipment: Cerner Millennium (LIS), Epic, Instrument Manager, Sysmex WAM, Cellavision, Biorad Unity, Wellsky, Roche, Ortho-Visions

 Experience:

• Laboratory experience as an MLS (ASCP or equivalent (preferred)
• Open to new graduate from accredited MLS program with experience with hematology or chemistry

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Physical/Life Sciences or related field
• ASCP, AMT, or AAB Registration

Role Purpose

The Medical Technologist (MT) or Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) II performs specimen processing and routine / complex testing on blood and other specimens which requires a knowledge and understanding of quality control, basic instrument maintenance, and procedure methodologies and reference ranges. Maintains appropriate documentation of all activities as required. Demonstrates good clinical laboratory practice
