Position Highlights

- Weekend Requirement/Rotation every 4th week

- 2 plus years of formal Nursing Supervisor experience needed
We are seeking an experienced Nurse Manager to lead a team of about 30 FTEs on our General Medicine Unit 4100. This is a fast paced unit that cares for patients with a wide range of complex medical conditions. This unit receives all direct admits from the ER. This role is ideal for a compassionate, collaborative and strategic nursing leader dedicated to advancing patient care, supporting team development and driving operational excellence. The Nurse Manager responsibilities include but are not limited to: Team management such as hiring, training, evaluating performance; Productivity and department goals; Developing and adhering to to departmental budgets; Patient care and compliance.

Barnes-Jewish West County Hospital offers highly specialized surgical and medical services in an intimate environment and is known for outstanding patient care. With 64 private patient rooms, 14 operating rooms and four intensive care unit rooms, the facility was designed to provide a comforting environment that is innovative, efficient and centered on the patient experience. The campus features a park-like setting with landscaping and a walking path that winds through the grounds and connects to Millennium Park.

Role Purpose
Responsible for the operational and clinical management of a designated patient care unit(s) on a 24 hour basis. Oversees a span of control and financial responsibility of > 40 FTEs supervised > $1.5 million in total expenses OR > 24 FTEs supervised > $3.5 million in total expenses.
