Overview

The Mechanical Assist Device Program as Barnes-Jewish Hospital and Washington University focuses on patients with end stage heart disease which is not amenable to any other form of therapy. Each mechanical assist device coordinator is an expert in the care and management of these patients. They bring their expertise, knowledge and understanding to the patients in the program.
Preferred Qualifications
Role Purpose
Coordinates the care of Mechanical Assist Device (MAD) patients. Promotes effective utilization of clinical, ancillary and material resources. Coordinates, plans, implements and evaluates the patient care and discharge plan for each patient with a mechanical device based upon initial and ongoing assessments. Collaborates with the multidisciplinary team to achieve optimal clinical outcomes for patients. Coordinates clinical and investigational procedures/studies associated with the treatment of adult/pediatric patients.
