This leader will oversee multiple locaitons to include North and South Campuses and the CSPD on the main academic campus.
This Director will have 9 direct reports and 147 additional FTE's reporting up.
The ideal leader should have at least 5-7 years working with CSPD with another 3 years in a leadership role.

Role Purpose
The Director will oversee, guide and audit the clinical practice, operations and compliance related to the cleaning, disinfection and sterilization of instrumentation. They will establish departmental quality goals and objectives and develop and implement standardized departmental policies and procedures. Must demonstrate extensive and complete knowledge of Hospital as well as outside regulatory agency requirements such as infection prevention guidelines, AORN standards, JCAHO, AAMI and IAHCSMM and effectively apply this knowledge to manage systems and processes to ensure the highest level of patient care and personnel development. Will actively collaborate with Hospital infection prevention and regulatory departments as well as multidisciplinary teams to improve institution’s cleaning, disinfection, and sterilization processes.
Responsibilities
- Manages individual(s) including but not limited to: onboarding and hiring, training, workload management & performance evaluations, conducting professional development plans as needed. Ensures that the productivity and actions of that group meet/support the overall operational goals of the department as established by department leadership.
- Develops and adheres to departmental staffing, revenue and/or expense budgets. Responds to changes in the business which may affect the ability to achieve the budget goals.
- Direct the delivery, assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of sterile processing services throughout the hospital to ensure optimal service supporting excellence in patient care outcomes.
- Establish and maintain all policies and procedures required in sterile processing in accordance with applicable guidelines. Administer policies and procedures that contribute to the accomplishment of financial, material, and human resource objectives and ensure all staff are trained and compliant to established polices.
- Lead sterile processing employee engagement strategy to insure an engaged and committed work force by maintaining visibility in all areas of the department, engage staff to ensure that they have the tools needed to perform their job and that staff are recognized for their contributions.
- Provides leadership and direction for the department through oversight of budgetary management, financial stewardship, and education to ensure financial goals are achieved.
- Serves as the administrator always ensuring facility readiness by providing structure and coordinates rounds focused on facility condition to ensure compliance with standards.
