BJC HealthCare System is seeking a Full-Time Imaging Informaticist (1Rad) for BJC (St. Louis, MO)

 

Position Details:

  • In-Office Hybrid Position: 1 day per week - work from home & 4 days per week work on-site at the Main Barnes Jewish (BJH) / Washington University Medical Campus
  • Must reside in MO or IL and able to come onsite
  • Must have or obtain within 6 months of hire - Epic Clinical Informaticist Certification
  • Serves as a liaison between the Radiology Technology Team & the Radiology clinical operational teams across the BJC enterprise
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the Radiology workflows utilized across our BJC organization & able to develop strong professional relationships with stakeholders
  • Collaborate with business and operational partners
  • Conducts onboarding training for all new Radiologists across the BJC organization including training all Radiologists on Epic Radiant, Sectra PACS, and PowerScribe (voice dictation system), among other applications

 

Skills & Experience

  • 2- 5 years clinical radiology and/or imaging informatics experience
  • Excellent organizational, presentation, communication and leadership skills
  • Ability to work effectively individually and as part of a collaborative team
  • Ability to work on several complex issues at the same time
  • Ability to collect, analyze, and present data at various audience levels

Role Purpose

The Imaging Informaticist combines clinical science with healthcare information and communications technology strategies, such as Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS) and other medical imaging storage, processing and display applications, to reduce risk and improve patient care delivery. The Imaging Informaticist I utilizes informatics processes to gather data and process information to drive decision making to improve patient care and support professionals as they expand knowledge and wisdom for practice. The Imaging Informaticist I, in collaboration with organizational partners, applies system design life cycle processes to projects and programs to improve the delivery of safe, high-quality, and efficient healthcare services in accordance with best practice and professional and regulatory standards.

 

Responsibilities

  • Provides consultative services to stakeholders, application, and development teams for workflow processes and technical solutions. Coordinates workflow process changes with system changes, aligning with policy and practice standards and change management protocols.
  • Utilizing change management skills, prepares, educates, & offers technical support to stakeholders during the integration of new or updated computer applications into healthcare workflows.
  • With limited oversight, leads the identification and design of effective and consistent workflows, system integrations, and content with imaging stakeholders while promoting standardization, critical decision-making, and helping ensure the adoption of electronic solutions across the entire organization.Identifies the conditions of, and advocates for, a positive & efficient user experience when stakeholders, such as radiologists, technologists, and clinicians, are accessing medical imaging and its associated clinical information, including for diagnostic imaging exam reading.
  • Assist stakeholders within medical imaging-based departments like Radiology, Vascular Lab and beyond in identifying and resolving application issues, emphasizing stakeholder service and satisfaction. Ensure resolution of problems and adoption of recommended short and long-term solutions, communicating back to the reporting individual or group, promoting sustainable solutions.
  • Test & implement new and updated applications, promoting the successful adoption of new technologies.
